Complementary Therapy?

Kinesiology... Massage... Aromatherapy... Acupuncture... reflexology... herbalism... chiropractic... homeopathy... the list could go on...

Complementary therapies are many and include numerous different techniques for treating a person and their problems. these are based on systems that have been practiced for thousands of years and could be considered to be the original forms of medicine.

They all have one aspect in common which is that they try to treat the patient as a whole, or 'holistically', rather than just treating the specific problem or symptoms that are affecting them.

They try to do this by treating the person at their physical, mental and emotional levels all in one - and also tend more to prevention rather than cure.

Some people refer to complementary therapy as 'fringe' or 'alternative' because they consider it to be alternative to the conventional medicine practiced by the medical profession. The therapies are referred to as complementary because they can be used in conjunction with, or alongside, conventional medicine to good effect.

Any of these therapies can be said to promote overall well-being and that can only be considered beneficial to a person's state of health.
